Obsidian moves under Bethesda as Xbox restructures its studios

As part of a major restructuring of Xbox's first-party studios, Microsoft announced that Bethesda's remit would expand to include Obsidian Entertainment. Obsidian will remain a distinct studio and continue its existing projects while reporting through Bethesda, including development of the new Fallout project being made in collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios. Bethesda president Jill Braff subsequently told employees that the move is primarily a change in reporting structure and that Bethesda is "not resetting our roadmap or asking teams to change what they're focused on." Bethesda Game Studios will continue to lead the Fallout franchise while working more closely with Obsidian. The restructuring is relevant to The Elder Scrolls VI because Bethesda has previously identified TES6 as its primary development focus, and the company has explicitly indicated that the organizational changes are not altering its existing development roadmap.
