Microsoft restructures Bethesda around its flagship franchises
During a Bloomberg Q&A following Microsoft's gaming division restructuring, Jason Schreier reported that Bethesda would be reorganized to focus on its largest and most established franchises, including Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, DOOM, Quake, and Wolfenstein. While layoffs and organizational changes affected multiple Xbox studios, Bethesda Game Studios remained a core part of Microsoft's long-term strategy. The report reinforced that The Elder Scrolls VI continues to be one of Xbox's highest-priority projects as Microsoft refocuses resources around its flagship franchises.
